Unit will Not Move
If you disengage the "freewheel levers" to push power chair out of the way, be sure to re-engage the levers to lock position when you relocate.
Here are details on where these levers can be found on some of our more popular products

Engaging – allows you to use the unit with the electronic controls. Disengaging – allows the wheels to freely spin, so you can move the chair without power, or use the unit like a manual wheelchair.
Rocking the unit gently while moving the freewheel levers will make it easier to move the levers.
Remember to unplug charger from both the outlet and the power chair before trying to move.

Controls can be locked out. See section below - Locking and Unlocking controls For details on unlocking your specific unit, check your Owner's Manual, or download an electronic version here - http://www.thescooterstore.com/products/product_manuals.aspx

If the temperature where you are driving your unit is between 50-80 degrees, the temperature could cause this condition. For every 15° below 78° you will lose half of your battery power.

Hearing Noise Coming From Motors
Clicking Noise
There is a normal clicking noise from the wheels when stopping and starting. This is the brakes engaging and disengaging when stopping and starting.
Check for debris under the unit or around the wheels.
If the clicking noise continues while moving and it is a new unit and/or new motor, allow one month break in period to pass.

Unit Going in Circles or Veering in one direction
The controls are sensitive and do require the joystick to be push straight for the unit to move forward. This is also true for reversing. Please ensure that even, direct pressure is being applied to the joystick.
This issue could also be caused by one of the freewheel levers being pushed out of place. Resetting the freewheel levers may clear this up.
How to Reset the freewheel levers
- Turn off unit.
- Place the freewheel levers in the unlock position for your unit.
- Push the unit to make sure the drive wheels are not locked up.
- Once done replace the freewheel levers into lock/drive mode.
Engaging – allows you to use the unit with the electronic controls. Disengaging – allows the wheels to freely spin, so you can move the chair without power, or use the unit like a manual wheelchair. This is the same for both power wheelchairs and scooters.

Unit Will Not Turn On
Have you replaced the batteries recently? Double check the wiring to check if properly installed. Refer to the battery wiring diagram located on the power base or double check owner's manual. If you don't have your owner's manual, download an electronic version here - http://www.thescooterstore.com/products/product_manuals.aspx
Be sure to tighten the battery terminals securely.
Make sure the battery quick-disconnect harness connections are fully joined.
Check the circuit breaker to make sure it had not tripped. Normally near the freewheel lever on the scooters or on front left of the power base on the Jazzy power wheelchairs. Push in the main circuit breaker reset button.

Check to see if the cables from the controller are connected, both at the controller and under the seat.
