Dream Foundation Grants Dream to Dying Woman in Suprise
Chaparral Winds Patient Receives Gift of Mobility
SURPRISE, AZ, September 1, 2006 — A local woman, Melvina Perchan, received the gift of mobility when The SCOOTER Store, the nation's leading provider of power wheelchairs and scooters, teamed with Dream Foundation to provide the terminally-ill cancer patient with a Jet 7 power wheelchair. Dream Foundation is the first and largest organization that grants final wishes to adults who have been physically, emotionally, and financially devastated by terminal illness.
Melvina "Mel," 85, is in the final months of her battle with cancer and was recently admitted to Chaparral Winds, an assisted living facility at 16629 N. West Point Parkway. She had been caring for her husband of 65 years and is a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. With Mel having difficulty walking, the power wheelchair will give her more mobility and freedom, allowing her to better enjoy her remaining time with family and friends.
Thanks to Dream Foundation and The SCOOTER Store, Mel received her gift of a power wheelchair today at Chaparral Winds.

"We believe that increased mobility can dramatically increase the quality of life for people who are mobility impaired," he said. "We look forward to working with Dream Foundation and providing a special gift of mobility to those who need it most."
Dream Foundation's mission is to enhance the quality of life for individuals and families battling terminal illnesses.
