Nation's leading provider of power-operated scooters and wheelchairs assist those in need
ORLANDO,Florida, May 3, 2006—As part of its Gift of Mobility program, The SCOOTER Store presented a power wheelchair to David Allen, an Orlando-area man recently faced with a mobility-related disability. The SCOOTER Store, the nation's leading provider of power wheelchairs and scooters, worked with the Sadie Holmes Help Services, Inc. to provide the assistance to Allen.
Allen, of Altamonte Springs, was presented the Gift of Mobility by The SCOOTER Store Executive Vice-President, Bill Sisoian, Regional Operations Director, Greg Rutherford and Orlando Retail Store Manager, Camille Marino. The SCOOTER Store's retail operation in Orlando is at 138 State Road 436.
"The gifts such as scooters and power wheelchairs are truly a blessing for those with physical limitations," said Sadie Holmes, founder of Sadie Holmes Help Services, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to providing clothing, food, furniture and other support for people in need. "This is a tremendous program allowing people in our community with limited resources the opportunity to overcome their physical limitations and realize the freedom that mobility can provide." Sadie Holmes was the recipient of ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in March 2006.
Other charitable groups that have been the beneficiaries of the Gift of Mobility program include the American Red Cross, Hospice, Volunteers of America and the National Chronic Pain Society, as well as a host of churches, museums and foundations.
