The SCOOTER Store Marks 15th Anniversary with Recognition of Annual Core Ideology Winners

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas, April 5, 2006—The SCOOTER Store, the nation's leading provider of power mobility equipment, has marked its 15th anniversary with special recognition of employees judged to have best exemplified the company's Core Ideologies during the past year.

The Core Ideology recognition program was established in 1998 by company founder Doug Harrison to help emphasize the principles he stresses to the firm's 1,100-person national workforce.

"When my wife Susanna and I started The SCOOTER Store, we made a commitment to build a company where employees would be guided by core ideologies that brought out the best in all of us." Harrison said. "And we can think of no better way to mark our 15th year milestone than to salute members of our team whose leadership this year has made it possible for us to continue our viability and growth while staying true to our mission."

Harrison pointed out that The SCOOTER Store is 40 percent owned by its employees. The 2005 Core Ideology Awards winners are:

Focus on the Customer - Dominic Blando, Retail Account Manager, Orlando, Florida

Have Fun - Bill Colson, Accounts Receivable Specialist in Billing and Collections, New Braunfels, Texas

Achieve Financial Success - Chris Caldwell, Marketing Analyst, New Braunfels, Texas

Be Phenomenal - Anthony Pepe, Distribution Center Manager, Levittown, New York

Grow Aggressively - Jennifer Norene, Director of E-marketing, New Braunfels, Texas

Always Do the Right Thing - Brian Ozer, Distribution Center Manager, Orlando, Florida

In addition to those winners, Harrison and SCOOTER Store President Mike Pfister announced two other award winning employee-owners for 2005.

Greg Rutherford, director of distribution, was named recipient of the President's Award and Tammy McCulley, Process Development Manager in Business Ventures, was recipient of the Compassion Award. Both work at the New Braunfels headquarters.

Pfister noted that The SCOOTER Store is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care, Inc. (ACHC), a nationally recognized industry organization. He also said the company recently announced it was in full compliance with all quality standards proposed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) a year ahead of that group's expected implementation deadline.
