The SCOOTER Store opens local retail location
Brownsville, Texas, February 11, 2005—Most people wouldn't buy a car without a test drive. The same should go for any new wheels - including a power wheelchair or scooter for those with mobility limitations. But until recently, most consumers here didn't have a chance to take one for a spin.
The SCOOTER Store, the nation's leading supplier of power wheelchairs and scooters, opened its first retail location in the Brownsville area in January, and located it inside the Wal-Mart Supercenter, at 7480 Padre Island Blvd.
"Our retail centers allow more customers to test drive our various models, talk to our mobility consultants one-on-one and see our full line of health solutions for active living," explained Doug Harrison, president and founder of The SCOOTER Store. The SCOOTER Store in Brownsville also features a full line of healthcare products, including shower chairs, wheelchair lifts, reaching devices, rollators and other therapeutic items.
"We're here to help people regain their freedom, independence and personal dignity by giving them mobility," Harrison continued. "Establishing this location in the Brownsville area allows us to extend our commitment to the community and to effectively assist each and every individual experiencing a mobility challenge."
The SCOOTER Store, headquartered in New Braunfels, Texas, operates more than 60 locations coast to coast. Over the past 13 years, The SCOOTER Store has earned a reputation for honesty and integrity by working closely with its customers, their physicians and Medicare. Staff Mobility Consultants assist consumers with insurance paperwork and provide in-home service on the power chairs and scooters they sell.
Store hours are Monday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. and Sunday, 1:00 p.m.-6 p.m.
