The SCOOTER Store Provides Personal Computers to San Antonio Hurricane Shelters

Donation Partnership with Microsoft to Help FEMA and Red Cross Relief in San Antonio

NEW BRAUNFELS, TEXAS—The SCOOTER Store, America's largest supplier of power mobility products, is donating 100 personal computers to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the American Red Cross shelters based in San Antonio. The donation will enable San Antonio shelters to help victims of Hurricane Katrina re-connect with loved ones who are located at other shelters and also provide shelter directors with another resource to accomplish necessary administrative tasks.

"By partnering with Microsoft, together we can provide both the computer equipment and the custom programming solutions to help Hurricane Katrina victims who desperately need to be reunited with their loved ones" said Jay Greene, Senior Vice President of Information Technology of The Scooter Store. "Demonstrating compassion is a part of our company motto to 'Always Do the Right Thing'; that includes what happens in the community as well as with our own customers and employees. We hope our donation serves to reunite even more families who are trying to put their lives back together," continued Greene.
