The SCOOTER Store Opens Second Houston Retail Location
HOUSTON, Texas, December 12, 2003—The SCOOTER Store, the nation's leading supplier of power wheelchairs and scooters, today opened its second retail location in the Houston area. Invited guests for the opening ceremonies included members of the medical community and public officials.
The new retail store at 12804 Gulf Freeway, Building C, in the Center at Fuqua is part of the company's efforts to give its customer a wider range of options, said Doug Harrison, president and founder of The SCOOTER Store.
"Our new store will enable more customers in Southeast Harris County to see our full line of health solutions for active living, test drive our different scooter models and talk to our experienced sales representatives one-on-one," Harrison said.
As a highlight of the opening ceremonies, store officials donated three power wheelchairs to Volunteers of America Texas as part of its ongoing Gift of Mobility program. Volunteers of America Texas is a national, non-profit, spiritually-based organization that provides local human service programs and opportunities for individual and community involvement.
To celebrate the opening, The SCOOTER Store is also offering a discount on the Go-Go scooter through Dec. 31, 2003. The Go-Go is a fun, portable scooter that disassembles in less than a minute. In addition to a variety of power wheelchairs and scooters, The SCOOTER Store in Houston will carry a full line of healthcare solutions for active living, including handrails, canes, wheelchair lifts, bath and safety items, reaching devices, rollators and other therapeutic items.
Over the past 12 years, The SCOOTER Store has earned a reputation for honesty and integrity by working closely with its customers, their physicians and Medicare. The SCOOTER Store has long maintained the highest standards of customer service and Medicare compliance in the industry, and is actively working with industry regulators to protect consumers by making sure that other mobility product providers make similar service commitments.
"We are here to help people get their freedom and independence and personal dignity by giving them their mobility," said Harrison. "Having a second location in the Houston area allows us to further our commitment to the local community and to effectively assist each and every individual with a mobility challenge."
The SCOOTER Store has had retail operations in Houston since 1993. It's other store is located at 7613 Katy Freeway #C.
The SCOOTER Store, headquartered in New Braunfels, Texas, operates retail stores and distribution centers coast-to-coast. Every day, employee-owners dedicate themselves to helping others achieve freedom and independence.
