Meet Graham!

Hello, I'm Graham Rutherford, your local Healthcare Relations Consultant for The SCOOTER Store in Southside Hampton Roads and Northeastern North Carolina. Before joining The SCOOTER Store, I taught high school for 10 years in Japan, Scotland, and the US. I've always loved meeting new people, and I'm happy to say that The SCOOTER Store has given me the opportunity to build relationships with people from all walks of life and help them on their way to a more independent lifestyle.

One of my most memorable customers was an 87-year-old WWII veteran and career Navy pilot whose chronic ailments resulted in severe mobility challenges. He lives alone about a block from the Atlantic Ocean. When I went to his home to demonstrate the power chair, he said told me that using the joystick controller reminded him of flying a military helicopter. On the day his power chair was delivered, he didn't hesitate to take off along the sidewalk to the ocean. It was very gratifying to watch him enjoy the freedom of independent mobility.

On the personal side, I emigrated from Scotland to the US in 2004. Now based in Norfolk, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two children and playing Scottish folk music. It's probably no surprise that my favorite movie is "Braveheart". Although I sometimes miss Scotland, I love living and working in the US. Please call me today.
