Meet Joel!

Hello! My name is Joel (pronounced joe-ell) Ramirez and I am your local Healthcare Relations Consultant for The SCOOTER Store in the Bronx (my hometown) and surrounding areas. I joined the company because I wanted to be a positive force in this world and the reputation of The SCOOTER Store for doing the right thing made us a match.

Sometimes the best work I do is helping a person get over their fear of power mobility. A woman in an assisted living facility couldn't get to the dining room on her own and had to wait for someone to show up to assist her. Her daughter asked me to help her mother regain her freedom and independence. When I brought the power chair in she was hesitant, but it only took a few minutes before she was moving around her apartment, zipping down the hallway and entering the dining room on her own. She even asked if she could keep the demo chair until hers arrived! It was a great day with huge smiles all around.

When I'm not working I enjoy reading, dancing, and listening to music. I really like learning new things and exploring the different cultures of this wonderfully diverse city. If you have questions about power mobility, or just want to recommend a great place to eat, I hope you'll call me today.
