Meet James!

Hello, I'm Jim Barakos, your local Healthcare Relations Consultant for The SCOOTER Store in and around greater Hartford, New Haven and Norwich. My favorite thing about my job is that I work with a company dedicated to helping people. I like knowing that I can provide others with alternatives and solutions to limited mobility problems. I am a "door opener" because giving someone mobility options often opens many new doors in their life. At times, doors that were once thought to be closed forever are opened again.

I'll never forget a woman who was so excited to see her new 4-wheel scooter; she crawled down the stairs of her garage to greet me. As soon as she got on the scooter, she was overwhelmed: "Freedom once again!" I watched as she rode all over her yard. Because she was an avid gardener, she told me how excited she was to be able to landscape her property herself again.

When I'm not working, I spend as much time as I can outdoors, especially boating and running! I understand that building relationships with my customers and putting their needs first is essential.
