Meet Norma!

Hello, my name is Norma Thurman and I am your local Healthcare Relations Consultant for The SCOOTER Store in and around San Diego. I decided to work for The SCOOTER Store because I wanted to work for a company that prides itself on helping others. Aging is something we all face and if I can help make the experience smoother in any way, I will. What I love most about my job is seeing the joy in my customers' eyes after they receive their power chair and realize they've regained their freedom and independence.

One of my most notable customer experiences was with a 93-year-old woman who had been confined to bed for months. She was hesitant to make the move to a power chair but she eventually decided to try it out. We helped her into the chair and she immediately zipped to her living room and stopped to gaze around. She looked up at me with tears in her eyes and said, "I have lived in this house for 45 years and I thought I would never see my living room again." Her experience really helped me understand how important independence and mobility is to all of us.

When I am not working, you can find me spending time with my children. I have two vigorous little boys and my time with them is precious. I also love yoga,and if I were not with The SCOOTER Store, I would definitely consider a career as a yoga instructor!
