Meet Douglas!

Hello! My name is Doug Behrendt and I'm your local Healthcare Relations Consultant for The SCOOTER Store in Panama City, along the panhandle and into eastern Alabama. I was attracted to the positive culture and passion of The SCOOTER Store and since I started my job here I have been fortunate to meet and help so many different types of people.

I recently delivered a power wheelchair to an amazing 87-year-old lady who showed no signs of slowing down. Her mobility had become challenged by her rheumatoid arthritis and she was so glad to get her new chair. I was very excited to meet this interesting woman, who with a PhD in physics and expertise in neural computing, had worked on a secret program with the government to analyze Sputnik, the Russian satellite. She had actually played a big part in our manned lunar landings! It was so gratifying to be able to help someone who had made such important contributions to our country.

On a personal level, I love landscape photography. I have four great cameras and I always have at least one with me to capture that perfect sunrise or sunset. I have been married to my lovely wife for 16 years and we have two dogs, Lucy and Vince. Lucy even has her own column on our community website! I know that by helping others and treating everyone with respect, my life will be richer. I am committed to serving my customers relentlessly. I hope you'll call me so I can help you too!
