OUR PROCESS

Our goal is to fulfill your mobility plan for your patient. Here's how we do it:

Step 1: Identify the need

  • If your patient needs power mobility, you can have them contact us, or you can ask your local rep for help. If your patient calls us before seeing you, we gather information about the mobility need, review Medicare or insurance benefits, and explain that a mobility exam with you is required.
  • Schedule the exam.

Step 2: Physician conducts the face-to-face exam

  • You conduct the face-to-face power mobility examination.
  • We provide your office with information about documenting the exam and your patient's needs. Download packet.

Step 3: Write the prescription

  • If you determine that the patient qualifies, Medicare may cover up to 80% of the cost and supplemental insurance may cover the remaining 20% (NOTE: Fewer than 25% of callers to The SCOOTER Store appear to have a Medicare-reimbursable need for power mobility; fewer than 12% actually receive equipment. See details.)
  • We evaluate the documentation against the patient's insurance requirements and advise them regarding coverage.

Step 4: Deliver freedom and independence!

  • Count on us to deliver the power chair or scooter (usually within 3 days of the paperwork processing) and teach your patient how to operate it safely.
  • Allow us to process all the forms for Medicare and other insurance companies.
  • Believe in our guarantee that if your patients complete our program, their claim for a power chair or scooter will be approved or we'll give it to them absolutely free! (Some restrictions apply; call for details.)
